My work getting busier as days goes by. My manager told me that every first two weeks of the month will be busiest because of the online global trade bids in the first week. I think I got here in a good time: 2 weeks before the start of December and thus I'll have enough time to train and become highly efficient and flawless at my job, so that I can contribute in the December peak weeks; and again in January and February. I'll be responsible for offer and contract part of the global trade sales. Yesterday I made my first offer using the SAP system and sent it off to the client for signature. This morning I received the fax reply with the signed offer so therefore today I have to prepare the contract.
I had my breakfast in McDonald's again... yes again... this is insane. I'm having more McD than I would back in Auckland. I really do need to find some more decent, cheap and healthier choices for breakfast. A normal McD breakfast combo is around 20RMB (4NZD) which is ok for NZ, but VERY expensive for China....and I just CAN'T imagine having three and a half months of McDonald's every morning..... insane...
I met up with my friends today for lunch! Well, I had my lunch with my managers and colleagues, then used the remaining lunch break to meet my friends who came all the way to meet me :) Among one of them is an old-time friend, Jian, who I met 2 years ago in Auckland. He came to Beijing to study Mandarin since September and will return back to Auckland for his graduate job at the end of this year. He's my coffee pal back in Auckland and I haven't seen him for quite a few months now, it's just so nice to see him again!! He seems to be very well settled down in Beijing; the Beijing accent in this mandarin are so cute, and it just doesn't match with his face in my mind, haha.
After a few days of nonstop travelling around and visiting places, I really need just a day break back home. I just couldn't wait to finally enjoy the lovely home we have, it's so comfortable (refer to pics). Our apartment is 7200RMB for one month (and 6700RMB per month if we stay there for the full 3 months), excluding all utilities costs and broadband. There are 3 bedrooms in our apartment, with 2 bathrooms (and 1 tub), kitchen, and 2 lounge (more like 1 lounge and a linking dining area). The residential area where we live in is called Roman Empire, it's very new (and still developing in some areas) so the apartments are all very new and modern. It's situated at the intersection of Chao Yang North Road and Qian Nian Road, with close bus stops etc. A new subway station for line 6 is being built outside the area and transport will be much easier and quicker, but I doubt the subway station will be done by the time we leave.

The central heating system in Beijing city was turned on 2 weeks earlier than planned (early November rather than 15th November) and so our apartment is so warm and comfortable. When we're inside, we only wear on layer of thin pants and a tshirt, it's just too good.
We are planning to go to Chao Yang Park after work tomorrow. Josi (the other girl in our group) starts work tomorrow; Gerard (the kiwi guy) will visit his workplace tomorrow and start work next week; and Jordan (a Chinese guy) also starts next Monday. I really hope that we can all settle down with work schedules and have a more regualr timetable, then we can really organise some events like cooking at home and enjoying a movie together, mmmm that sounds sooooo good to me, I need some rest.
